Location: Swift Current (remote and on-site as needed)
Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, organized, and adaptable Marketing Assistant to support the promotion of two of Swift Current’s signature events. This contract role is structured to start with light onboarding and preparation tasks, ramp up into full-time festival support, and conclude with a wrap-up phase.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, social media savvy, skilled in content creation (photo, video, and writing), and ready to work on-site during event week. Pay commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule social media content across platforms, including ads;
- Assist with website updates (WordPress);
- Create and send email newsletters;
- Capture and edit short-form video and photography for multiple platforms, understand the platforms (Instagram, YouTube)
- Support media relations and event appearances;
- Attend festival events to capture live content;
- Assist with post-event reporting and content archiving;
- Coordinate and verify sponsor recognitions;
- Concert promotion and ticket sales.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills;
- Experience with social media platforms and scheduling tools;
- Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, Adobe or other editing software, plus Google cloud tools;
- Basic photo and video capture and editing skills;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the festival;
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
You will need to have the hardware and software necessary to meet industry technical standards.
Contract Timeline: May 13 – June 28, 2025 (7 Weeks Total)

Wrap-Up Week: June 24–28, 2025
- First 2 weeks stay under 15 hrs/wk to allow onboarding and light prep.
- Hours ramp up in the final 2 weeks to meet festival demands and on-site content.
- Ends with a dedicated wrap-up week for media delivery and post-festival reporting.
