Following a 2.5% increase to SK Arts’ appropriation in the 2023/24 budget, SK Arts announced how it plans to distribute the funds. The increase is the first to the agency’s general funds since 2011, not including occasional designated funds for specific purposes.

SK Arts is hosting a free, three-episode virtual speaker series between January and March 2023 on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. The series, which was developed from a consorted effort to create a community where everyone feels safe and included, features guest speakers and members of the arts community beyond SK Arts.

To wrap up Pride Month, we want you to meet Faith Rae. Faith is a visual artist who received a Prince Edward Arts Scholarship from SK Arts to complete her bachelor of fine arts at Brandon University. She used the final exhibition for her degree, “Evolving,” to come out publicly as queer.

Ask Artists is a new inquiry-based learning program for teachers and students. Each episode is an in-depth and intimate journey with a Saskatchewan artist. Artists share candid moments and show students that artists are real people with skills, successes, failures, and dreams.
